Visit your local library and check out a book or audio book! Type in the title of your book and what you thought about it. Return your item on time and earn a Brag Tag, 5 points, and an entry into our Prize Drawing! Look below for types of books you can find at all 3 of our libraries.
A picture book is more than just pictures! Although some picture books are "wordless", most have a story you can read or have someone read to you.
A Juvenile book is a book for kids. Often these are called Chapter Books. These books have a story divided into sections called chapters.
A Graphic Novel is sometimes called a Comic Book. Most Graphic Novels tell a full story (like a Chapter Book) but they do it all with pictures and word bubbles! Graphics are great for beginning readers because instead of describing the action or how something looks with words, you see it in the illustrations!
Non Fiction books have facts and information, and great for learning about something new! You can read about animals, weather, cooking, famous people, history, how to make things, and world records.
Find each of the following colors on a walk around your neighborhood. What kind of interesting things do you see? Mark each color off as you find them, don't forget to look high and low!
Do something nice and show kindness to others! These activities are great ways to show your generosity.
Get your little ones to expand their horizons. This can be accomplished by trying something new or seeing things in a different light. Teach your little ones that you don’t have to travel far to explore new things—wonderment can be found everywhere!
